Club Meetings

Geoff Rynne - CEO of Cycling Qld has proposed a meeting with our club and the Bundaberg Cycling Club for 7pm Thursday 14/01/2010 at the club rooms of B’berg Cyc Club.  This meeting is yet to be confirmed.  The meeting is about what Cyc Qld can do for us.  Bernie has suggested that we hold a meeting on the Wed night prior 13/01/10 so as we can all meet and work out as a club what we would like to discuss.  This will be at the Young Aussie 7pm.

Blood Donations

Once again blood donation time – you are all invited to the Red Cross Rooms at the Base Hospital after 4.30pm.  Drinks, pikelets, cheese and crackers will follow from you generous donation.  Remember drink plenty of water on the day, bring your licence, your reading glasses, and be prepared for a wait.  One blood donation can save 3 lives

Crit Racing Cancelled - 9/1/2010

It has been decided that our crit racing will be cancelled on 9 January in lieu of the track carnival being held by B’berg Cycling Club on that day.

Don’t forget to renew your licence.  Those who do not hold a racing licence at the next crit race 16 Jan will not be allowed to race.

Membership Renewal

With all our good New Years resolutions ....A reminder to us all - for many our annual Coral Isle Cyclists/Cycling Queensland membership renewal needs to be done. Renewal can be completed easily online www.cycling.org.au or with a paper application form. Current membership provides personal and public liability insurance cover for: club events, training rides and racing. the latest Insurance Summary is available of the web-site or can be viewed at www.cycling.org.au ).

Our club and cycling as a sport need the support of each one of us. Everyone cycling should be encouraged to hold membership as protection both for themselves, other road users and the club.  For those holding a racing licence it allows members to compete anywhere in Australia in any Road or Track event conducted under the auspices of Cycling Australia. The adult annual membership fee varies between $65 for a non racing licence to $200 plus for a full elite racing licence. Another benefit of becoming a member is the quarterly newsletter sent to all households and access to the CQ's professional coaching structure.

Our cycle insurance in addition to covering racing, organised training, club meetings, fundraising activities, travel to and from these activities also includes logged individual training. This is assumed to mean all training that you use to improve your cycling; i.e. the gym, running/jogging, power walking etc. so if you are injured doing any training towards cycling and can produce a log book you should be covered. So if you want to take advantage of this ..... record all training.
