Criterium Track Development News

A community project and a Coral Isle Cycling Club initiative to get more people healthy and active and to provide a facility where cyclists of all ages and abilities can enjoy bike riding in a safe environment.


Progress Report

October 2008

Funding application checked by David Field, Bundaberg Regional Council Sport and Recreation Officer. Application for community project funding submitted to Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund. Outcome should be announced in March 2009.

September 2008

Registration Confirmation Statement of Lease received from Department of Natural Resources and Water Final quotes for construction and letters of support received. Budget finalised. Application for funding collated.

August 2008

Registration for 20 year Lease on Lots C and D (R1199 and R1005) finalised. Donation of $500 from Hinkler Park Plantation, Bundaberg, assisted in the cost of the registration.

June 2008:

Lease agreement being read by Solicitors AJ Sullivan, Barolin St, Bundaberg Boundary survey has been completed by  Surveyors Sommerfeld, Jensen & Campbell, Barolin St, Bundaberg.

March 2008:

Obtaining quotes for earthworks and signage and letters of support from local, State and Federal Members of Parliament and local schools.

February 2008:

In process of getting land surveyed for lease agreement to be drawn up Seeking support from local businesses and community organisations for the project

December 2007:

Accepted offer from Bundaberg City Council on lease of parcel of land off George St and The Bywash to build an approximate 1000m x 5m criterium circuit.
